Founded in 2018, Recreational Embassy is a tourism marketing agency specialized in the intersection of tourism and cannabis. Our team is led by leaders in the cannabis and global tourism industries, with a deep understanding of everything from travel inspiration to sales distribution channels.  We educate the hospitality industry on safe, legal cannabis consumption as the new tourism experience, and help integrate hemp and cannabis products into dining, spa and events.  We help growers, tour companies, dispensaries, and cannabis friendly hospitality businesses share their products with curious travelers from all over the world. Our passion is human connection and new experience, with a side of wellness.

Meet the team

Lauren is the founder and CEO of Recreational Embassy.  With over 15 years experience in leading global tourism marketing strategy for luxury travel destinations and experiences, Lauren identifies opportunities for hotels and destinations to create new and exciting products and buzz. Lauren believes that hemp and cannabis products enhance both wellness and travel experiences and is passionate to help luxury hotels vet this new landscape. Lauren holds a B.A. from The University of Michigan and is a Certified Destination Marketing Executive (CDME) through Destinations International.

Brian Applegarth is the founder of the California Cannabis Tourism Association and on-going adviser for Recreational Embassy. He is a sought-after expert for tourism businesses interested in cannabis and hemp opportunities. Brian is a speaker at industry conferences including CalTravel Association Summit, California Hotel and Lodging Association Conferences, American Hotel and Lodging Association Resorts Committee, Palm Springs Hospitality Association, Northern California Concierge Association, Weed and Wine Symposium and more. He has worked with the award-wining Farmhouse Inn and Restaurant, Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn, Green Dream Tours, Museum of Sonoma County and others. Brian is a board member of the CalTravel Association and holds a BA in International Studies from U.C. Keri Parker curates CBD products and experiences for Recreational Embassy.  With two decades of experience in the beauty space, Keri Parker consistently redefines the role of industry expert by breaking through mainstream confines and enlivening brands with an exacting mix of grassroots marketing and media gloss. Based in Southern California, she pioneered both the organic beauty and CBD B to B scene on her home turf, drilling down high-impact ingredients and nimbly sifting through the hype—an ever potent skill within the veneer of social media. An on-air storyteller, she crafts segments for QVC, NBC and FOX.
